Shirt
1) First of all I cut out my shirt patterns.
2) Then I sewn in he marked out darts on the front and back pieces of fabric
3) I attached the front and back shoulders together using a 1.5cm seam allowance.
4) I ironed open the seam.
5) Then I sewed together the front and back pieces of fabric using a 1.5cm seam allowance.
6) I ironed the seams open.
7) I MUST REMEMBER TO INCULDE MY FRINGING INTO THE SEAM ALLOWANCE, AS I DIDN’T USE ANY IN MY TOILE.
8) Then I added a zip as a feature. The zip is supposed to be on fully on show.
9) To attach my zip I measured a 0.5cm seam allowance and turned over and ironed.
10) After that I sewn my so that the teeth lined up with the edge of my fabric. Using a zipper foot I sent alongside the edge of the zip using a 0.5cm distance.
Hot pants
1) First of all I cut out the patterns into my fabric.
2) I sewed up the darts on the front and the back piece.
3) Then I sewed the sides together using a 1.5cmseam allowance.
4) I then sewed together the inner pieces. I used a 1.5cm seam allowance to do this also.
5) I NOTICED THAT THE LENGTH OF THE HOT PANTS WHERE NTO AS SHORT A I WANTED THEM. SO I EDITED MY PATTERN TO MAKE THEM SHORTER.
6) After editing my patterns I began my hot pants again, by cutting out my new patterns into fabric.
7) Then I sewed the front and back sides together using a 1.5cm seam allowance.
8) Then I sewn the front and back out side panels together using a 15cm seam allowance.
9) I then sewed together the inner panels using a 1.5cm seam allowance.
10) I added a waistband to my hot pants. I done this by cutting a piece of elastic 30cm long when not stretched.
11) I sewed locked the elastic to make it one circle piece of elastic.
12) I pinned the elastic to my hot pants right sides together.
13) Then I over locked the two together.
14) The last thing to do was to bias bind the bottom of my shorts for a neat finish.
15) I bias binding using a 4cm wide strip of lyrca. Attaching the wrong side the right side sewing a 0.5cm line.
16) Then I folded over the bias binding onto the right side so It was neat, and then ironed to keep it in place.
17) Finished off by sewing a line to keep it together.
