Inspirations

I chosen to do my assignment on the 1980's fashion. I have looked at what inspired the 80's, and how the 80's have inspired our generation. The biggest inspirations of the 1980's were definitely Madonna, Michael Jackson, Boy George and Princess Dianna. I have taken alot of inspiration form Madonna, including the leather jacket, the over sized bows and the laced gloves. I love how she could gather so many different textures and cram it all in yet it would still look amazingly go and never to much. Each of the previous people had their own individual look and make their mark on fashion at that time. People copied what they wore and wanted to be just like them. There is nothing like icons of the 80's these days. Vivienne Westwood become a fashion rebel in the 80's, she created the new romantic look to rebel against the punk look. Punk was the major fashion at that time so to create something so different to the style that was already in was dangerous on her career, but she done it anyway. Vivienne is a well known fashion rebel along with the late Alexander McQueen. They become so famous as they were willing to crush their career with a rebellious line, I admire them for that reason in particular.
