Catwalk fashion, is it wearable?

Most people think of catwalk as the up coming lines for retail, but what most people don't know is the catwalk is statement fashion, to be inspiration for other designers rather than worn. The catwalk was created to show off the clothes and the designer. Take Alexander Mcqueen for instance; he starts off the catwalk with the most eccentric pieces of clothing to grab the eye and really wow the fashion industry, then finishes off with a wearable collection ready to hit the shops. I have pictures from the website www.style.com. The top outfit shows off his ability to be creative and different, where as the bottom image shows he can create more simple wearable clothing lines. these outfits have had a effect on the fashion industry, as the shapes used are now coming out in everyday clothes from high street shops such as www.topshop.com and www.asos.com. So to any the question is catwalk fashion wearable, not the catwalks that make the press, as the ones that make the press are the outrageous ones in which the wearable line is based on. Catwalk fashion is inspiration.
